Sheffield Wednesday defender Dominic Iorfa started a game for the first time since November last night – and Alex Miller thinks he’s going to be a huge player.
The Owls beat relegation rivals Plymouth 1-0 at Hillsborough to go level on points with the four teams directly above them in the Championship table.
With Iorfa back in the mix for selection, Wednesday are finally seeing their defensive injury problems ease at long last – and it’s full steam ahead towards second-tier survival.
What Alex Miller said about Sheffield Wednesday star Dominic Iorfa
Well, it would appear as though The Star correspondent is a big fan of the centre-back and thinks he’s going to be vitally important for the remainder of the campaign.
It was a blow in November when Danny Rohl confirmed a pretty nasty injury for Iorfa – and one that would keep him out for a little while.
Wednesday are now firmly in the mix to beat the drop after last night’s win – with Leeds United to visit South Yorkshire on Friday night.
A win in that game could see the Owls climb to 16th in the Championship table and it promises to be a mouthwatering game at Hillsborough.

Miller believes that Iorfa is now going to be a big player for Wednesday as they try to claim as many points as possible before the season is out.
He said on Twitter: “Got a feeling Dom Iorfa could be a big, big returnee for Wednesday. With Bernard as no slough with him in the back three, his pace and recovery ability would allow Danny Rohl to play a line as high as he likes in theory depending on oppo. Combative, gets involved higher up.”
Iorfa can star under Danny Rohl
The defender has been a miss to the way in which Rohl likes his teams to play, with his pace defensively a huge asset.
Iorfa signed for Wednesday in 2019 from Wolves and he quickly established himself at Hillsborough as a top defender.
During the promotion campaign of 2022/23, Iorfa was integral to the team under Darren Moore, making 45 appearances in all competitions.
He will have been devastated to pick up an injury that ruled him our for so long and now he will be keen to make up for lost time.
Iorfa now has a survival mission to take care of with Wednesday and achieving that goal would at least see the defender end the season on a high.
