Sheffield Wednesday could welcome one of their sidelined players back to training next week, says Danny Rohl.
Sheffield Wednesday haven’t had much luck on the injury front of late.
Rohl has recently lost defenders Akin Famewo and Kristian Pedersen to injury, where they join the likes of Cameron Dawson, Josh Windass, Momo Diaby, and Juan Delgado on the sidelined.
Another injured player is Dominic Iorfa who’s been sidelined since sustaining a muscle injury in the 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers in December.
But Rohl says that the 28-year-old is making ‘huge’ strides in his recovery, and could even be available to feature later in the month.

Speaking to the club ahead of tomorrow’s Championship clash vs Millwall, Rohl gave an injury update on his side, revealing the news about Iorfa.
Rohl said:
“It’s not nice when you have injuries to players but we have seen huge steps forward by Dom. Today (Thursday) he trained the whole training session with us and I am very positive that he can be back next week in the team training and maybe available for the next game.”
Former Wolves man Iorfa has 306 career appearances to his name, with 152 of those having come in a Sheffield Wednesday shirt since his arrival in 2019.
Iorfa has featured 15 times in the Championship this season, featuring 35 times in last season’s promotion-winning campaign in League One.
Sheffield Wednesday injury list easing ahead of run-in
Sheffield Wednesday have 14 games of their season left and a seven-point gap to Millwall to close before then.
It’s certainly doable, though it’s definitely going to be difficult. But Rohl will be pleased that his injury list seems to be shortening ahead of the final run-in.
Iorfa’s return will be a huge boost; he brings a lot of quality and dynamism to the right-hand side, where Pol Valentin has been playing after a tussle with Liam Palmer for the starting spot.
And for Iorfa, the final weeks of the season are crucial for him, as he’s one of the many out of contract in the summer, so he’ll be playing to either earn a new Sheffield Wednesday deal or to put himself in the shop window for other potentially interested clubs in the summer.
But for Rohl and his players, the focus is on right now. Millwall are in dire form having not win any of their last seven in all competitions, losing six, so the Owls will be desperate to knick another important win against a relegation rival.
