Danny Rohl has continued to make a brilliant impression on his Sheffield Wednesday squad as they prepare for their meeting with Plymouth Argyle.
Rohl was relatively unknown when he arrived at Sheffield Wednesday with no management experience in October.
However, it didn’t take him very long to get people talking, with both Josh Windass and Barry Bannan going onto claim he was the best coach they had ever worked with.
The Owls’ Championship survival caught the eye and it wasn’t long before several clubs were chasing him, however he went onto commit his future with a new contract.
With a number of out-of-contract players following suit, while even more new signings arrived, Wednesday enjoyed their first preseason campaign with his squad.
Rohl has continued to impress his players and Liam Palmer remains in awe of the German coach.

Rohl is ‘very honest’ and ‘very direct’
The defender has now explained what Rohl is really not ‘afraid to do’ in training.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Post, Palmer said: “He’s very honest, very direct in how he wants to work. He’s not afraid to stop a session and physically move you into the right position.
“But what he’s really good at is giving detail or showing us if we set up in a certain way, how well it works. If we’re just missing a certain position or we press from the wrong angle, how it can all come unstuck.”
Sheffield Wednesday fans are about to see Rohl’s ambitions in practice
Supporters got a little taste of how Rohl wants this team to play last season, but without a full preseason and with full focus on avoiding relegation, he wasn’t able to completely transform the squad the way he wanted to.
However, he has now had an entire summer and has brought in the players he wants to be able to alter his tactics and team selection to exactly how he envisions it.
Rohl has very high expectations of his team, but a busy summer transfer window means that the squad now has the quality to pull it off.
Wednesday will see just how well it works when they face Plymouth, while it is clear that Rohl will know just how to change things if things don’t go to plan too.
He has emphasised his preference to play out from the back, but if they were to play someone like Leeds United or Burnley, then fans would trust their head coach to change things around and not be too stubborn in his ways.
