Sheffield Wednesday head coach Danny Rohl has made a final decision on Lee Gregory and Jeff Hendrick. The two players haven’t featured for some time having been omitted from the club’s 25-man squad.
This week the deadline passed for players to be added to the squad. Now, only players who are injured can be added – with Wednesday having one more space in their squad.
It’s been a good chance for Wednesday to take stock of their situation during the international break. Four straight wins were followed by a defeat to Leeds and a mauling at Ipswich prior to the two-week hiatus.
Rohl sees his side sit a point below the team directly outside of the relegation zone at this moment in time. On Good Friday, the Owls take on Swansea City before going to Middlesbrough on Easter Monday.
There is still all to play for in the quest for survival. Rohl has worked wonders since he came to the club and it’s a testament to him and his staff that Wednesday are still in touch.

Well, it’s been a topic of some discussion for a little while this has – and now it would appear that Wednesday boss Rohl has made a decision on the out-favour duo.
According to The Star, both Hendrick and Gregory have now been included back in the 25-man squad. It will give Rohl two more options to call upon between now and the end of the campaign.
Hendrick hasn’t played since December having picked up a mystery injury. He’s now back in the fold and has been back in training as he attempts to get a place back in the team.
Gregory hasn’t really played since October. He was introduced in the final minute of a 2-1 defeat to Cardiff but it was anticipated that Rohl was giving him one final swansong at Hillsborough.
Now, both players will get the chance to train hard and attempt to force their way back into contention for a Wednesday place under Rohl.
Hendrick and Gregory will bump up the numbers
This feels like a sensible decision by Rohl in our view. The last thing he wants is players knocking around who feel like they’re not contributing and both Hendrick and Gregory are extremely experienced.
Both players will now be available for selection once again. It remains to be seen whether or not either will play much but it will certainly be intriguing to see what happens.
Hendrick and Gregory might have to wait patiently for a chance to take a place in the squad. However, with it now full steam ahead until the end of the season, injuries and suspensions could earn them a chance.
