Sheffield Wednesday head coach Danny Rohl has been discussing this month’s transfer plans at Hillsborough.

The Owls’ boss was speaking with The Star.

So, what has Rohl said about the transfer window at Sheffield Wednesday? Let’s take a look…

Rohl explains what he wants at Sheffield Wednesday this month

This will be the first time that Rohl has had a chance to add to his Wednesday squad since replacing Xisco Munoz in October.

As a result, he will want to ensure that he gets things right and it would appear that he expects to be busy this month.

Wednesday are set to land James Beadle imminently. There is also some serious interest in Newcastle midfielder Isaac Hayden, according to reports.

Rohl has been quizzed on what he would like to do in the transfer market this month and it could be an exciting few weeks.

He told The Star: “I think we will do work in some positions. On my list I have striker, winger, midfield, maybe full-backs, maybe goalkeeper! We have a lot to do!

“But let’s just wait to see what happens next week, for sure we cannot do everything in the next week. I will try always do everything immediately but it’s always crazy this market.”

Wednesday need recruits for fighting chance

It’s fair to say that Wednesday won’t go down this season without a fight. The results were pretty useful over Christmas with wins over Preston and Hull given the Owls a sniff.

Now, the challenge is to bring players in who can help enhance the survival prospects. The linked players appear pretty useful and hopefully, there can be some movement this week.

Since he came to the club, Wednesday head coach Rohl has placed emphasis on wanting his team to be comfortable in possession. As a result, any new signings that are added will need to be comfortable with that approach.

The German head coach has seen his team go to within three points of Championship safety after two impressive wins over Christmas.

The window has now opened and it promises to be an exciting month for Wednesday.

Interestingly, Rohl has suggested that he’d like as much business done early in January as possible.

If that is the case, it would be ideal. Wednesday will want to avoid a hectic transfer deadline day and hopefully, Rohl can get some positive news on the incoming from this week.
