Sheffield Wednesday remain keen on German boss Dany Rohl, but a deal is not yet complete, says reporter Alex Miller.
Sheffield Wednesday are on the hunt for their next manager and young coach Rohl is a name being mentioned more than most.
The former Southampton and RB Leipzig assistant recently left an assistant coaching role with the German national side, having been interviewed for the Wednesday job in the summer.
He seems like a favoured appointment among many Owls fans, and Alan Nixon claimed earlier in the month that Wednesday were set to hire Rohl as their next boss.
But Miller took to Twitter earlier this morning to clarify the situation, tweeting:
“As far as we understand it’s NOT a done deal. But Danny Röhl remains front-runner for the Owls job.”
Other names are still being linked with the Wednesday vacancy, including the likes of former QPR and Rangers boss Michael Beale, but it’s Rohl who remains the front-runner.

A matter of time before Rohl to Sheffield Wednesday?
With Rohl the front-runner, and no other names seemingly as close to the job as he, it seems like Rohl to Sheffield Wednesday may be a formality.
Chansiri interviewed him in the summer and he probably rues appointing Xisco Munoz over him in the first place.
But Rohl now looks set to get his chance and whilst it’s a very risk appointment of a mostly unknown and untried quantity, it’s a very exciting appointment too.
Rohl could well be the next unknown gem to come out of Europe and make it in England, though he’ll know that he has a huge task on his hands should he land the Owls job.
Sheffield Wednesday return to Championship action vs Watford later this month.
