Danny Rohl has provided an update on when Josh Windass could return to action for Sheffield Wednesday.
Josh Windass has been a key player under Danny Rohl this season, having scored three goals and picked up one assist since the German was appointed.
However, the midfielder has had his campaign hampered by injuries, having made only 16 starts in the Championship.
Windass had scored two goals in his last four games before he was taken off at half-time during Sheffield Wednesday’s 0-0 stalemate against Watford, before missing out on the last eight games in all competitions due to a muscle injury.
Danny Rohl originally claimed Windass would be out for ‘weeks’ not ‘months’, but he could well be closing in on the two-month mark once he makes his comeback.
The 30-year-old is now closing in on his return though, with the manager providing an update on him during today’s press conference.
Speaking to the media, Rohl said: “Josh Windass is buliding up and hopefully we will have him available after the international break. “He is working hard on the pitch, he is hungry and wants to be part of the team.”

Josh Windass has been one of Sheffield Wednesday’s best players in recent years, quickly becoming a hero when he netted that late winner in the League One playoff final last season.
However, the Owls have now won five of their last six games without him, and his history with the club doesn’t mean he will get straight back into the starting line-up.
Danny Rohl had previously opted for a back four, allowing Windass to start just behind the striker, or sometimes on either side of the attack.
However, a formation change in recent weeks could make it harder for the midfielder to force his way back into the team, with Will Vaulks and Barry Bannan currently occupying the midfield as a duo.
Ian Poveda is pretty undroppable at the minute, while both Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba remain in battle for that final spot on the left.
Windass will be looking to make it his own, but he will be itching to get back on the pitch if he is to be in with a chance of cementing his place back in the team for the final run-in.
