Danny Rohl has highlighted what Sheffield Wednesday need to do to become a Premier League club again.
It has been almost 24 years since Sheffield Wednesday were last relegated from the Premier League, having been there since it was first established in the 1992-93 season.
The Owls had finished in third place in the first campaign and finished in seventh place on three occasions, while they also featured in the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
However, they were relegated to Division One after finishing 19th in the 1999-00 season, and then dropped down to Division Two just three years later.
It has since been a tough run for the Yorkshire outfit, who have spent 15 of the last 20 years in the Championship.
The club are now fighting for their place in the second tier as they look to avoid dropping down into League One yet again, with Danny Rohl leading the side to within three points of safety.

While Sheffield Wednesday still have a lot of work to do to stay up, the German coach has already addressed the future goal of returning to the Premier League.
Speaking to Kicker, Rohl said: “With the potential of the fans and the charisma, #SWFC can become a Premier League club again. But you have to invest a lot for that, not just money, but also in terms of identity. We have now provided the impetus for this.”
What will happen to Sheffield Wednesday next season?
It’s been a very long time since Sheffield Wednesday have been in the top flight, and supporters certainly haven’t had the chance to consider returning anytime soon.
Though there is feeling around Hillsborough that Danny Rohl could do brilliant things here if he manages to keep the club in the Championship.
It’s a real shame that the 34-year-old hadn’t been in Sheffield since the summer given the transformation he has completed. If the league had started when he was first appointed, the Owls could currently be sat in 14th place – nine points from the playoffs and eight above the drop zone.
If the club can stay in the second tier this term and keep hold of Rohl, then there is no reason why he can’t become a real hero for years to come.
