The feud between Carlton Palmer and Dejphon Chansiri continues.

Yesterday, Chansiri unveiled Xisco Munoz as the new Sheffield Wednesday boss. But Chansiri spent a large part of the press conference addressing the recent comments from former Sheffield Wednesday man Palmer, who’s been voicing his concern about Chansiri’s running of the cub.

The Owls owner said on Palmer:

“Carlton Palmer came out and said something. I don’t understand why you say you love this club but you try to damage it. When we’ve done well in the past I’ve never seen him come out. I think he just wants to get attention.”

He added:

“If he thinks he tells the true story I invite him to talk to me face-to-face in front of fans and media. Don’t hide behind social media.”

And the latest ceomes from Palmer who posted yesterday:

Munoz replaces Darren Moore who left Sheffield Wednesday last month. The Spanish former Watford boss guided the Hornets to promotion to the Premier League in 2021 but his task at Hillsborough is much different.

He and the club have a huge month ahead with plenty of player signings needed ahead of the new season, with Sheffield Wednesday kicking off the Championship campaign with a home game v Southampton.

The Palmer-Chansiri feud

It’s a bizarre one. Palmer has said some questionable things online but few would’ve expected Chansiri to have taken notice, let alone go on a rant about him during Munoz’s unveiling yesterday.

But the club has much bigger things to attend to. Munoz needs the appropriate backing in the summer transfer window if Chansiri doesn’t want to see his side make an immediate return to League One, but with a manager finally in place, transfer plans can finally get underway.

It’s a crucial month ahead for the Owls and positivity is needed – there’s no time for bitterness ahead of what is a pivotal summer and fans will hope that Palmer’s latest tweet is the last on the matter.
