John Buckley has shared his excitement about the arrival of Danny Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday.

Speaking to YorkshireLive, the midfielder admitted that he couldn’t wait to learn all about the German’s style of play and his different ideas for the club going forward.

John Buckley had spent the past 17 years with Blackburn Rovers before he arrived at Hillsborough on loan in the summer.

The 24-year-old has only managed four starts in the Championship this season, but is still raring to go and enjoy a ‘good experience’ under Danny Rohl.

“It’s something I have wanted to experience, different managers with different ideas and seeing what I enjoy.

“Before this period I had one manager for about four years (Tony Mowbray at Blackburn) which was really good but it’s now been three managers in such a short amount of time. So I think it’s going to be a good experience for me to witness different styles of play and different ideas.

“I used to watch them (Wednesday) when I was younger. It’s one of the reasons I wanted to come here. It was something I wanted to do, get out of my comfort zone and try something different.”

John Buckley wants to learn from different managers

John Buckley may be excited by the prospect of earning experience under different managers, but it is definitely something Sheffield Wednesday want to avoid.

Many fans were left frustrated when Darren Moore left in the summer, especially when Xisco Munoz was also sacked just months later.

The Owls will be hoping the risk in bringing Danny Rohl on board pays off, as they want to avoid ending up as a club that bring in more managers than they have hot dinners.

Sheffield Wednesday need stability and hopefully Rohl is the man for the job.
