Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl says Josh Windass is back in training ahead of this weekend’s Championship clash vs Millwall.
Sheffield Wednesday return to Hillsborough this weekend, where they host Millwall.
It’s only a second home game in charge for Danny Rohl who won his first home game as Owls boss 2-0 against South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United.
Since, Wednesday followed it up with a disappointing 1-0 defeat away at Bristol City in which many will believe the Owls should’ve had more from, but for a controversial red card for skipper Barry Bannan which has since been overturned.
Windass missed the game at Ashton Gate with a minor knock, having previously started all three of Rohl’s opening games at the helm.
But speaking to the press this afternoon, the Wednesday boss revealed that Windass is back in training and that the 29-year-old may well return to the side this weekend.
Rohl said:
“Josh Windass is back in the training today. We will see how good he is tomorrow in the training… We will decide tomorrow.”
So far this season, play-off hero Windass has featured 10 times in the Championship without scoring, with just one assist to his name as well.

Windass back in contention for Sheffield Wednesday…
Despite his poor scoring form this season, having Windass back and available can only be a plus for Rohl and Sheffield Wednesday.
The German clearly favours Windass given the fact that he started him in every game before the Bristol City clash, but if he makes a return this weekend, it could be likely that he starts on the bench.
If that’s the case then Rohl has a good option to bring off the bench late on should they need it with this Millwall game bound to be another tough one for the Owls.
The Owls remain nine points adrift at the bottom of the table, with QPR in 23rd just three points ahead.
