A Rotherham United defender has hyped up this weekend’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
Sheffield Wednesday take the short trip to the New York Stadium off the back of three wins in their last four games, picking up two clean sheets in the process.
After spending a majority of the campaign in the relegation zone, the Owls could go level on points with 21st place QPR if they can claim a win on the road.
While it is all about clawing their way to safety for the visitors rather than the opponent themselves, Rotherham are instead looking forward to the Yorkshire derby, despite the fact they are 16 points below QPR themselves.
The Millers have won only three of their 34 games this term, with the Boxing Day clash with Middlesbrough proving to be their only victory since October.
The Yorkshire outfit would need a miracle to stay up now, but that doesn’t stop this weekend’s tie from being the ‘biggest’ of the season for the club.
Speaking to the media (as per The Star), Rotherham defender Sean Morrison said: “It’s going to be a huge game.
“It’s going to be a sell-out. They’re going to bring a load of fans over. It’s the biggest game of the season for our fans and we’re excited at the prospect of building on some of our recent performances. Only this time we want the performance to get a result.”
Rotherham are destined for relegation at this point, but will be eager to get one over their rivals and prevent them from taking a big step towards retaining their Championship status.
Recent years have seen the spoils shared though, with the Owls picking up five wins in their last ten meetings (D2 L3). Though Rotherham have won at home on only one occasion in the last ten years.

This weekend’s clash is a must-win for Sheffield Wednesday, and it is one that they really have no excuse to lose.
The Millers are in terrible form and have comfortably the worst defence in the Championship, shipping in 66 goals so far.
They have actually managed to score more goals than Danny Rohl‘s side, but the recent emergence of Ike Ugbo will surely give the visitors the upper-hand.
The Owls really need to drag themselves up the table before they face the likes of Leeds United and Ipswich Town, as they really can’t afford to let the opportunity slip away from them again.
