Sheffield Wednesday saw their three-game unbeaten run end at Norwich City tonight.
Sheffield Wednesday went into this one on the back of a 1-0 win at Stoke City last weekend; a win that resulted in the sacking of Alex Neil.
And the Owls took their positive momentum in this one as well, starting brightly and reacting well after falling behind early on thanks to a spectacular strike from Borja Sainz.
Bailey Cadamarteri headed Wednesday back level midway through the second half and Wednesday continued to dominate towards the end of the first half, when Norwich showed a bit more fight.
But the second half saw Norwich regain control.
They took the lead through Ashley Barnes and then sealed the win midway through the second half thanks to a goal from Jonathan Rowe.
After a game of two halves, here’s how we rated Danny Rohl‘s Sheffield Wednesday players tonight…

Cameron Dawson 6/10
Was alert in the first half to come off his line and close down the likes of Ashley Barnes more than once, but may come under criticism after Norwich’s third squeezed past him at the near post.
Akin Famewo 6.5/10
Fairly steady throughout. Didn’t have a whole lot of defending to do and didn’t get forward much in the second half with Marvin Johnson coming on.
Michael Ihiekwe 6/10
Decent first half. Made some important interventions and got the assist for Cadamarteri’s goal, but was easily beaten for the third.
Bambo Diaby 5/10
Tonight’s performance wasn’t as good as his recent ones for Sheffield Wednesday. Won his share of duels but didn’t look too confident on the ball and was perhaps lucky not to give away a penalty in the second half.
Liam Palmer 6/10
Steady first half from the Wednesday veteran. Showed his experience with some tidy passes and touches, but maybe didn’t do enough to keep Norwich at bay in the second half.
Will Vaulks 6.5/10
Turned into prime David Beckham in the first half with some excellent deliveries, as well as throwing himself into tackles in a congested midfield. But he wasn’t his most influential for Sheffield Wednesday tonight.
Barry Bannan 6.5/10
Always positive whenever he had the ball. Made some standout passes but also saw a few not come off. A steady performance nonetheless.
George Byers 6/10
Steady. Kept play ticking over nicely if he didn’t do anything too spectacular before coming off at half-time.
Anthony Musaba 7/10 (STAR MAN)
Clearly caused Norwich problems. Always looked to drive forward with the ball and was a threat whenever he did so. Showed good skills on the ball and made a couple of decent passes in attack.
Callum Paterson 6.5/10
Typically hard-working. Didn’t shy out of anything but wasn’t all that involved in attack. Prevented a goal at the end of the first half with a huge block for Sheffield Wednesday.
Bailey Cadamarteri 6.5
Took his chance when it came. Set the tone early with his pressing and work rate, had some nice touches and passes as well. Mostly isolated in the second half but kept up the work rate.
SUB: Marvin Johnson 6/10
Brought on to take Byers out of a crammed midfield and give Wednesday a new outlet. Cause a couple of problems down the left but fairly ineffectual.
