Sheffield Wednesday lost 2-1 at home to Coventry City in the Championship this afternoon.
Sheffield Wednesday welcomed Coventry City in the Championship today, retuning to Hillsborough after a 4-0 defeat at Southampton last time out.
The Sky Blues came into this one with just one defeat in their last 12 in the league, beating league leaders Leicester City 3-1 in their last outing.
But today’s game started evenly. Both teams were looking to attack when in possession but it was Mark Robins’ Coventry who took the lead, through a fine curling effort from Ben Sheaf in the 40th minute.
Danny Rohl then made four changed on the hour mark and saw his side pull one back through Josh Windass minutes later, but Coventry held on to leave the Owls now five points adrift after Huddersfield Town drew with Blackburn Rovers.

Di’Shon Bernard returned to his usual spot in the middle of defence alongside Michael Ihiekwe this afternoon, after playing in front of the defence vs Southampton.
And early on, the Jamaican international provided a huge block to keep the scores level; something that caught the eye of journalist Joe Crann.

Sheffield Wednesday fans love Bernard, and they want to see him handed a contract extension as he enters the final six months of his current Owls deal.
But despite some strong performances this season, it’s not been a simple few weeks for the 23-year-old.
He started a couple of games on the bench in December and was obviously playing in midfield against Southampton, so that the under-fire Bambo Diaby could start in the middle.
Btu with Diaby being benched today and Bernard putting in another solid performance, there should be no more question marks regarding who Wednesday’s best centre-pairing is.
Right now, it’s certainly Bernard and Ihiekwe. And whilst there’s room for improvement at the back and across the pitch for the Owls, Rohl seems to be steadily figuring out what his true, best XI is.
