Sheffield Wednesday lost 2-1 at home to Cardiff City in the Championship yesterday, with one man proving divisive once again.

Sheffield Wednesday looked like they were on their way to another impressive win at Hillsborough after taking a first half lead through Anthony Musaba.

But the Owls were dealt a hammer blow after two late, second half goals from Cardiff City handed the visitors all three points.

It was an unexpected outcome, especially given how dominant the Owls were for the first 70 minutes or so, and goalkeeper Cameron Dawson has once again come under the spotlight.

The 28-year-old could arguably have done more for the opener and he definitely could’ve done more to prevent the second goal, after parrying a shot into the path of an oncoming Cardiff attacker.

Dawson has been the no.1 for Rohl so far. He often divides opinion but he looked to be turning a corner earlier this month after positive performances against Leicester City and Blackburn Rovers.

But his performance yesterday has highlighted the need for a new goalkeeper in January and many Wednesday fans have called for a change in goal ahead of a Boxing Day clash vs Coventry City.

What have the Sheffield Wednesday fans said about Cameron Dawson?

It’s Cardiff’s second goal that will stick in the minds of Wednesday fans.

The Owls should’ve had another three points on the board yesterday, and after QPR and Huddersfield Town both lost, yesterday’s game really is some crucial points dropped.

Danny Rohl could’ve seen his side move to within three points of safety with a win.

And understandably, Wednesday fans have vented their frustration at Dawson who they deem to be at fault for at least the second goal yesterday.

Here’s what some of them posted on X about Dawson after yesterday’s game…
