Sheffield Wednesday take on Norwich City tonight, with Danny Rohl going up against a familiar face on the sidelines.
Sheffield Wednesday make the trip down to Carrow Road tonight where they go up against top-six hopefuls Norwich City.
The Canaries currently sit in 13th and have lost just one of their last five, easing pressure on boss David Wagner after a tough patch of form.
And Wagner has spoken about Sheffield Wednesday ahead of tonight’s game, and he’s also spoken about his German compatriot Rohl who he says he knows well.
David Wagner expecting ‘aggressive’ Sheffield Wednesday performance
Sheffield Wednesday head to Norwich on the back of three unbeaten games and consecutive wins.
The Owls have momentum right now but tonight’s game will be much more difficult than their last outing away at Stoke City.
But Rohl’s ideas will stay the same; he’s made Wednesday a dangerous team to play, donning a high press and a fast-tempo style of play.
And Wagner recognised that in his pre-match press conference ahead of tonight’s game, saying of Sheffield Wednesday:
“I expect them to be on the front foot, and be aggressive. I know Danny and his assistants well, he has a certain style. You can still see his ideas coming through.”
Owls up for the fight
Along with a newfound philosophy and optimism, Wednesday have a real fight about them now.
The fight for survival all of a sudden seems very winnable and so Norwich City will be expecting a very tricky game against the Owls tonight.
But for Wednesday, this game is going to be another uphill one.
Norwich are rediscovering their form and with the top six back in their sights, they’ll want to take all three points against a Wednesday side who remain in the drop zone.
Rohl will almost need his side to play as the home team tonight and attack Norwich and make them feel uncomfortable in their own ground, but with Wagner expecting that from Sheffield Wednesday, he might yet have a trick or two up his sleeve.
Norwich have some really experienced Championship pros in their side and when they’re in form, they’re a really dangerous attacking outfit with players like Onel Hernandez and Jonathan Rowe able to cause teams a lot of problems.
Tonight’s game kicks off at 7:45pm and a win could bring the Owls to within five points of safety after Huddersfield Town lost at home to Preston last night.
