David Prutton has issued his verdict on Sheffield Wednesday’s upcoming clash with Swansea City.
Sheffield Wednesday will be given yet another opportunity to climb out of the relegation zone this weekend as they host the Swans.
The Owls have been within touching distance of safety for most of March, but defeats to Leeds United and Ipswich Town have left them stuck in the bottom three.
This week’s clash with Swansea should be much more winnable for the Owls though, who had won four games on the bounce prior to the match against Leeds.
Meanwhile, the Welsh outfit have won three of their last five matches, but only have two wins in their previous nine on the road.
Swansea sit seven points above the relegation zone and don’t really have much to play for at this stage of the season, while Danny Rohl‘s side will be looking to take advantage of that.
However, despite previous form, David Prutton has predicted that his former side may have to settle for a draw at Hillsborough.
Writing his predictions for Sky Sports, Prutton predicted a 1-1 draw, and said: “Sheffield Wednesday have lost their last two, but some perspective is needed in that they were probably against the two best teams in the league right now. Having said that, the 6-0 reverse at Ipswich will have left a mark that Danny Rohl will hopefully have washed away during the break.

“Swansea were brilliant in beating Cardiff, which is obviously a massive game for them. Can they take some momentum from there? I think it’ll be a point here as the Owls just need it that bit more than the Swans.”
Will Sheffield Wednesday come out all guns blazing?
If Sheffield Wednesday had played Swansea City just a few weeks ago then fans would have been brimming with confidence, having been in their best form of the campaign.
However, there is no doubt that their heaviest defeat in ten years against Ipswich Town will have punched them right where it hurts.
Thankfully, the Owls had the international break to recover and prepare to go again, but it remains to be seen whether they will come out fighting again or they will still be bruised from their trip to Portman Road.
Swansea will be confident after beating Cardiff, but Sheffield Wednesday should be disappointed if they are unable to claim all three points on home turf.
