Some Sheffield Wednesday fans on social media are far from happy after hearing the Owls are in talks with Sam Hutchinson over a return to the club.

The defender left the Yorkshire outfit in the summer after six years with the club, and despite being a fantastic servant during that time, some fans don’t want him back.

Hutchinson can play in either midfield or at the back, and those are two areas that Wednesday don’t need reinforcements in this month, with the likes of Barry Bannan, Liam Shaw, Chey Dunkley and Tom Lees impressing in recent weeks.

Hutchinson also didn’t have the most amicable of departures from the club, being frozen out of the squad by Garry Monk before he was eventually released.

It’s unknown what happened between Hutchinson and Monk, but fans were concerned about the prospect of him falling out with the Owls’ new manager, whomever that may be.

It remains to be seen whether or not this move will come to fruition, but if Hutchinson does secure a return to Hillsborough, it will certainly be a move the divides the fanbase.
