Some Leeds United fans are urging Sheffield Wednesday not to recall Keiren Westwood ahead of Saturday’s meeting of the two clubs at Hillsborough.
Westwood was injured during the warm-up at Cardiff last Friday and also missed Tuesday’s fixture against Stoke.
Cameron Dawson deputised admirably for the veteran goalkeeper, but could return to the bench against Leeds after the Owls boss Garry Monk confirmed that Westwood is available.

Westwood has quite a history with Leeds, whom he has faced on 11 occasions stretching back to his time in League One with Carlisle.

And while he has emerged victorious on just two of those occasions – neither of which were with Wednesday – the Republic of Ireland international has often impressed.
Of course Westwood becomes available to play us again. Cue him to to start and make around 457 saves #LUFC https://t.co/4pnTWCX92X

Dawson actually has a better record than Westwood for Sheffield Wednesday this season’s Championship, having won on two of his three appearances – drawing the other – and kept as many clean sheets.
Westwood has recorded just one more than that (three) in 10 outings, five of which have ended in victory and four in defeat.
