Some Sheffield Wednesday fans on social media have been lavishing praise upon Liam Shaw despite the fact they lost 2-1 to Rotherham on Wednesday evening.
The Darren Moore era didn’t get off to the best of starts as the Yorkshire club fell to a defeat to their relegation rivals, but there were a few reasons to be positive.
As has been the case so many times this season, Shaw was one of the standout performers at Hillsborough, and supporters were quick to give him praise online.
Unfortunately, there was an element of bittersweetness about the fans’ praise.
Indeed, supporters were more than happy to acknowledge that Shaw played well, but fans couldn’t help but express regrets due to the fact he’s reportedly leaving Wednesday at the end of the season to join Celtic.
Regardless of what Shaw’s future holds, his performance against Rotherham was impressive and if he continues to play like that he may have a big part to play in the Owls’ fight for survival.
