‘Phew, Thank goodness’: Some Sheffield Wednesday fans relieved after hearing ‘great news’

Some Sheffield Wednesday fans on social media have been reacting after it emerged that it is impossible for Ravel Morrison to play for them before the end of the season.

The midfielder had been training with the Owls, and it was thought at one point that a deal for the ex-Sheffield United player was on the cards, but due to the fact the Owls have missed the registration deadline, he won’t be playing for them.

Of course, a deal in the summer with a view to playing next season remains possible, but judging by these responses, that wouldn’t be a popular move.

To be fair, we can understand why Owls fans don’t want Morrison to join the club.

He’s become something of a journeyman in his career, struggling to make an impact anywhere he’s played. His match fitness is bound to be in tatters, and even though he was touted for big things as a youngster, he’s not shown any semblance of talent during his career.

We can’t imagine that he’d have solved any of the Owls’ problems as they attempt to battle relegation.
