Some Sheffield Wednesday fans on social media are far from happy with Dom Howson’s update on Paul Cook.
Fans quite clearly want to see Cook appointed, and you can tell that supporters are losing patience with this seemingly never-ending hunt for a new boss.
Reports had circulated that Cook has rejected the Wednesday job, but Howson is now claiming that Cook had never actually been offered the job, with the manager not even being interviewed at this stage.
Howson’s report on Cook does seem to make a lot more sense than the idea that Cook has rejected the job, after all, his comments on talkSPORT a few weeks ago made it seem as though he was very keen to take charge.
“Sheffield Wednesday is an absolutely massive football club. It would be a fantastic club for anyone to manage so while I’m being linked with it, it is obviously very flattering,” Cook said.
At the moment, we know that Cook has applied, but no formal decision seems to have been made on whether or not he’ll get the job.
Wednesday fans clearly aren’t happy about the conflicting reports, and they’re even more unhappy about the fact Cook hasn’t been appointed yet.
It certainly seems as though the former Wigan boss is the fans’ first-choice to become the new manager, but whether or not Dejphon Chansiri sees it the same way remains to be seen.
Here’s what Owls supporters have been saying on social media…
Should have been appointed ages ago, the club is a shambles and going into league 1

It’s literally right there in front of us the perfect solution, we’ve not had to even seek him out he’s come to us and we’ve still messed it up. Only Wednesday https://t.co/lvrhC01AWG
