Some Sheffield Wednesday fans have been fawning over Sam Hutchinson after hearing his comments to the Sheffield Star.

The Wednesday ace spoke about his commitment to the club, stating that he would stay with the Owls even if they were relegated, claiming that he always wanted to be at Wednesday.

Hutchinson returned to Hillsborough in January after a short stint in Cyprus after his Wednesday contract expired last summer, and he’s played in every single game since re-joining the club.

The 31-year-old spoke with a real passion about the team in an interview with The Star.

“The one thing I would say is that I always want to be at Sheffield Wednesday I wouldn’t have signed this contract if I didn’t want to be here,” Hutchinson said.

The ex-Chelsea man was then asked if he’d stay with the club if they were relegated, to which he replied:

“I’ve always said I wanted to be at this club, I didn’t come here for the money, I didn’t come here for anything else other than wanting to help the club and be part of something. I knew what I was getting myself in for when I signed.”

As you can imagine, Wednesday fans absolutely loved hearing this.

Far too often this term players haven’t shown enough passion or determination on the pitch, but it seems as though Hutchinson is a true exception to the rule.
