'Leave him where he is': Some Wednesday supporters urge Owls not to sign player who could be Hillsborough-bound

Sheffield Wednesday fans are reacting to reports one of their recently-departed players could return to Hillsborough this coming season.

Alessio da Cruz signed for Wednesday in the January transfer window, on a half-season loan from Parma, but contributed just one assist in nine starts and a further six outings off the bench.

There was, then, little indication that the Dutchman’s deal could be renewed – that is until reports this week.

Tuttomercatoweb, the same Italian website that revealed Da Cruz was on his way to Wednesday initially, have since claimed the 23-year-old ‘can stay’ with the Owls, despite requests from Serie B clubs to sign him.

And according to Yorkshire Live, Da Cruz is on the club’s list of summer transfer targets.

But, as far as the following Owls supporters are concerned, it would not be a good move…

It was reported by Tuttomercatoweb in January that Wednesday would have an option to buy Da Cruz at the end of his loan spell.

But there is no indication as yet as to what sort of deal the Owls might pursue for the player, who has two years left on his contract at Parma.
