Some Sheffield Wednesday fans on social media have been calling for Jordan Rhodes to get a start against Millwall this weekend.
The Scottish striker made headlines this week with his last minute winner at Bournemouth, so it’s no surprise to see the fanbase rallying behind him.
To be fair, some Wednesday fans have always had a soft spot for Rhodes, memorably criticising Tony Pulis’ decision to substitute him against Stoke back in November.
Once again supporters are rallying behind Rhodes, and we can certainly see why they want him to start.

He may not have shown his best form since joining Wednesday, but he’s a striker who knows where the back of the net is, and if he’s full of confidence after making himself a hero against Bournemouth, surely he deserves a chance to go on a run.
It remains to be seen whether or not Neil Thompson will opt to go for Rhodes from the start or leave him on the bench to be a super sub as he was against Bournemouth, but it’s clear to see that fans online want to see him playing from the off against the Lions.
Here’s what Wednesdayites have been saying about Rhodes starting on social media…
Yeh I’d start him. Thompson has stated he’s doing everything right, performances have been good in last two games. Got his goal so confidence will now be high. Yeh think he deserves it… pic.twitter.com/u1t0VPNSEJ

He’s our only 1st team striker. Get him on, give him service and give him a chance.
We’re in a relegation scrap, so we need all hands on deck.

Definitely

It’s the only he will regain form and start scoring game after game. Giving him 10/15 mins every time we are loosing is not the way forward.🦉🔵⚪️🦉🔵⚪️

From what I’ve seen last 2 games coming on as sub, I’d back him tbf. Has played well recently, although I agree starting is a completely different matter…
