Some Crystal Palace fans are slating their Sheffield Wednesday-linked striker Connor Wickham.
Wednesday have been strongly tipped to bring the former Owls loanee back to Hillsborough on loan this month.
But Wickham has remained a part of Crystal Palace’s first-team squad, appearing in five of the Eagles’ last seven games in all competitions.
His latest outing came as a 6th-minute substitute as Palace lost 2-0 at home to Southampton on Tuesday.
But the 26-year-old struggled to make a positive impact.

And a Twitter search of his name does not make for kind reading…
Wickham gets lucky once in maybe 100, 150 touches and has a glass leg. Thankful he scored that 1 goal this season but he offers very little especially off the bench. Give him to a league one side.

I’d let Wickham go on loan, I’d let him go on a free, he’s 🗑

Sheffield Wednesday’s need for a Steven Fletcher alternative was evident during the Owls’ 5-0 defeat against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
And provided he can rediscover the form he showed before injuries struck earlier in his career, Wickham could be that man.

And his impressive displays upon returning to Sunderland led to a £9 million move to Crystal Palace in 2015.
Palace recently added the Everton striker Cenk Tosun to Roy Hodgson’s options and also have Jordan Ayew and the sidelined Christian Benteke for competition in Wickham’s position.
