Some Sheffield Wednesday supporters have taken to Twitter to praise youngster Ciaran Brennan for his performance in the FA Cup defeat to Everton.
The Toffees booked their place in round five with a 3-0 win over the Owls.
While the score-line was convincing, Wednesday performed well especially in the first half and a number of their players can hold their heads high moving forward.
The Championship will always be top priority for the Owls so this game was a free hit.

Reacting on social media after the game, some supporters singled out young central defender Brennan as a potential future star and hope to see more of him.
One of the few real positives of this season so far has been the emergence of Shaw and now Galvin & Brennan as young prospects of real quality. Fingers crossed for great things to come #swfc

Ciaran Brennan was our man of the match in my opinion. He completed 3 tackles, 3 clearances and blocked 5 shots. He also had a 87.5% pass accuracy and won 2 ariels. #swfc

To be expected against a strong Everton side. First half good, plenty of positives. Impressed with Urhoghide & Brennan.
The league has to be the priority though. Also give Thompson the job til the end of the season for me.
Up the Owls, we go on 🦉 #swfc

Thought Brennan and Urhoghide where really good against top players, nobody tries harder than pessy but not good enough, green should help on the goal front, 3 huge games now #swfc

Brennan, 20, made his third Owls appearance of the season at Everton having previously featured in the League Cup and the FA Cup victory at Exeter City in round three.
The central defender partnered fellow youngster Osaze Urhoghide.
Up against England international striker Dominic Calvin-Lewin, Brennan was a standout for the Owls as he posted three tackles, five blocked shots and an 87.5% pass success rate.
Central defence is a weak area for the Owls. Aden Flint’s loan was cut short due to injury while Dominic Iorfa picked up a ligament injury and is out for the season.
The versatile Sam Hutchinson is set to return to Hillsborough on a free transfer to provide more options in midfield and defence, while Tom Lees’s contract expires this summer.
