Some Sheffield Wednesday fans on social media have been reacting to reports linking them with a move to sign Danny Simpson.
The full-back has been a free agent since leaving Huddersfield Town at the end of last season, and it seems as though Wednesday could bring him in.
Simpson turned out for the U23s as a trialist on Monday, and Darren Moore was reportedly in attendance to get a closer look at the defender who could potentially be his first signing as Wednesday boss.
The 34-year-old is no spring chicken anymore, but he comes with a wealth of experience and a history of success, both at this level and in the Premier League.
SAKA, ANTONY AND 10 PREMIER LEAGUE STARS HEADING TO THEIR FIRST WORLD CUP
Owls supporters certainly recognise what he’d bring to the squad, and they’ve expressed that they’d be keen to see this one get over the line.
Whether or not Wednesday complete this signing remains to be seen, but supporters certainly wouldn’t be opposed to it.

Better option than Liam Palmer fact need a left back too wonder if there’s a midfielder and striker available while he’s looking

Definitely wouldn’t be against this, but extra cover and experience in the full back position would be a plus. Would probably only be a deal until the end of the season too so low risk #SWFC https://t.co/wxh9609Ttd

Wouldn’t be against this. Need options for full back and Simpson would bring a wealth of experience. https://t.co/33LLVKkw6H
