Some Sheffield Wednesday fans on social media have been reacting to news that Barry Bannan has agreed a new deal with Sheffield Wednesday.
The Scottish midfielder’s contract was up at the end of the season, but he’s now committed his future to the Hillsborough outfit.
As you can probably imagine, Wednesday supporters were buzzing to hear that one of their most important players will be staying at the club for the foreseeable future.
The news was originally broken on Wednesday evening, but the club made an announcement that Bannan had signed on the dotted line on Thursday, sparking further celebrations.
This is still a fantastic boost for the Yorkshire outfit, especially after reports emerged this week Liam Shaw will be leaving the club.
It’s unknown how long this new deal for Bannan will run for or what his wages are, but Wednesday fans are just pleased to hear some positive news after what has been a fairly miserable season.
