Yes – the first Partick player to be born this Millennium, in fact.
And he plays for their first team, right?
Yes. Fitzpatrick made his debut against Albion Rovers at the start of the campaign, and marked the occasion with a goal. He’s played 13 times since then and scored twice more – although each of his goals arrived against lower league opposition in cup competitions.
Is he typical Steve Bruce signing?
He certainly wouldn’t be the first young Scot to have been bought by Bruce from north of the border, after John McGinn and Andrew Robertson at Aston Villa and Hull City, respectively, in recent years.
How easily could Wednesday get him?
Fitzpatrick’s recently signed contract runs until 2021, which leaves Partick until little pressure to sell. However, the Daily Record speculates the Jags could be tempted to cash in on the player to fund January recruits of their own.
Which Owls players should be worried by Fitzpatrick’s potential arrival?
Jack Stobbs is the obvious candidate. Although captain of Wednesday’s successful under-23 side, Fitzpatrick’s fellow right-winger will soon be 22 and hasn’t really kicked on as many people expected him to. He is also out of contract at the end of next season.
