Former Sheffield Wednesday loan target Kenneth Zohore is in line to face Neil Thompson’s side this weekend as Championship rivals Millwall host the Owls in South London.

West Bromwich Albion striker Zohore was a top target for several clubs last summer.

The Baggies man was unlikely to break in at the Premier League club this season, so then manager Slaven Bilic made the former Cardiff City striker available for loan.

According to The Sun on Sunday (September 27, page 61), Wednesday were pushing hard for his signature ahead of both Millwall and relegation rivals Derby County.

The Owls reportedly offered a substantial £25,000 per week package for Zohore who cost West Brom a pricey £8 million fee from Cardiff in the summer of 2019.

But it was Millwall who ultimately won the race for his signature.

Zohore joined the Lions in October and made three Championship starts, scoring once, before picking up a lengthy injury in the 2-0 victory over Preston North End.

The 27-year-old later missed Millwall’s encounter with Wednesday at Hillsborough.

But this time around he is back fit and raring to go. Gary Rowett’s side secured a loan extension for him in January, and Zohore has started Millwall’s past three league games.

His return to the Lions eleven has coincided with an improvement in form as Millwall host the Owls looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to five games.

Wednesday, meanwhile, will be confident of picking up a positive result after winning four of their last five games including a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth on the south coast.
