Sheffield Wednesday face Championship promotion contenders Norwich City this weekend with former Owls target Ben Gibson in line to start for the Canaries.
The central defender is currently on loan at Norwich from Burnley.
Gibson left Middlesbrough to join Burnley for £15 million in 2018. However, he has made just one Premier League appearance for the Clarets – a 5-1 drubbing at Everton.
The former Boro man never settled at Turf Moor and was likely to return to the Championship.

According to the Mirror (Live blog, 20:41, June 22, 2019), Boro were keen to re-sign Gibson but reportedly faced competition from Wednesday.
The Owls, who were then managed by Steve Bruce, looked to strengthen the defence.
A deal for Gibson, however, never materialised. That summer Wednesday instead signed Julian Borner from Arminia Bielefeld and David Bates on loan from Hamburg.
Gibson remain at Burnley, but after another season of not playing, the 27-year-old moved to Norwich in the summer as a replacement for Ben Godfrey.
The former England U21 international has started 11 Championship games for the Canaries this season as Daniel Farke’s side sit at the top of the league table.
Norwich have been decent this season. However, with six goals conceded in their last three games, they have looked shaky of late and Wednesday can punish them.
