The Sheffield Wednesday-linked left-back Aaron Hickey is heading to Italy, according to reports in the country.
Wednesday are one of a string of clubs, which includes the German heavyweights Bayern Munich, being credited with an interest in Hickey, who has entered the final year of his contract with Hearts.
But Corriere Dello Sport claims that, barring a ‘sensational change of purpose’, Bologna will close an initial loan deal for the teenage Glaswegian, which contains a €2 million (around £1.8m) obligation to buy the player in June 2021.
Quite how that works with Hickey set to become a free agent then, is unclear.
But the Italian website seems certain that Hickey will join Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side – where he’ll serve as understudy to the former Norwich City loanee Mitchell Dijks.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that Bayern had offered the Hearts no.51 a VIP tour of their facilities in an attempt to lure him to Bavaria.
And it is likely to have taken something special for Wednesday – who’ll begin next season on minus 12 points – to come out on top in the race for his signature.

The Owls could be in the market for a left-back after Morgan Fox’s exit, although they do have Matt Penney back from a loan spell at St Pauli.
Fox was unveiled as a Stoke City player earlier on Friday.
