All eyes were on the Hillsborough directors’ box as managerless Sheffield Wednesday hosted Espanyol on Sunday afternoon.
But it was the sighting of a potential new signing, and not Steve Bruce’s successor, that caused the biggest stir on social media afterwards.
Countless suggestions were made as to the identity of said player, pictured in Sheffield Wednesday training gear below.

And three days on we appear to have an answer, courtesy of Wednesday’s own social media activity.
The Owls’ official Instagram account began following Osaze Urhoghide, the former AFC Wimbledon centre-back, on Wednesday lunchtime.

And a visit to Urhoghide’s profile brings up the following post, in which the 19-year-old announced his arrival at Hillsborough.

The Londoner, who can also play right-back or central midfield, failed to make a competitive appearance for Wimbledon, who released him at the end of last season.
It is likely that Urhoghide will begin his Sheffield Wednesday career in Neil Thompson’s Under-23 set-up.
