Chansiri's son starts following 2019 Wednesday 'target' on Instagram, player now a free agent

Att Chansiri has once again sent some Sheffield Wednesday fans into a frenzy with his online activity.

Chansiri, whose father Dejphon is the Wednesday owner, has a reputation for letting slip new signings before they have been announced by the club.

Massimo Luongo, Alessio da Cruz, Connor Wickham and Josh Windass all arrived at Hillsborough after the youngster started following their Instagram accounts.

And if history is anything to go by, Cheyenne Dunkley could be next.

Dunkley was linked with a move to Wednesday last summer (Football League World), when he was a Wigan Athletic player.

But he is currently a free agent after his contract expired at the end of July.

Dunkley, a centre-back, scored six goals and was part of a Wigan side that kept seven clean sheets in his 27 Championship appearances last season.

But a broken leg suffered during the last of those in February saw the 28-year-old sit out the Latics’ – ultimately failed – fight for survival against the backdrop of administration.

Sheffield Wednesday ended the 2019/20 campaign short in Dunkley’s position, and carry Dominic Iorfa, Tom Lees, Julian Borner, Osaze Urhoghide and Joost van Aken with them into next term.

That in mind, the Owls are expected to add to their options in the summer transfer window, with their manager Garry Monk having favoured a back three of late.

The former Wednesday loan star Frederico Venancio has been linked with a return to Hillsborough, although it would be little surprise to see two – or more – central defenders arrive between now and the October deadline.
