There is little love lost between those of a Sheffield Wednesday persuasion and the former Owls defender, Michael Morrison.

Morrison played 15 times for Wednesday during the club’s second-worst season in the best part of 40 years.

And he was among the first to be culled by Gary Megson, as the former Owls boss shaped the side that would go on to win promotion back to the Championship the following campaign.

Since then, the centre-back has experienced a string of run-ins with his former employers, both as a Charlton Athletic and Birmingham City player, and won’t have featred on too many Wednesdayites’ Christmas card lists as a result.

But some Owls fans are finally starting to warm to Morrison, after he scored the goal that denied Sheffield United a return to second place on Tuesday.

This is what they’re saying on Twitter…

United will leapfrog Leeds yet again with a win at home to Millwall on Saturday afternoon.

And it is Wednesday, of all clubs, with the chance to aid their closest rivals in the day’s later kick-off at Elland Road.
